Bender Insurance Agency is a full-service agency that sells employer-sponsored health, life, dental, and disability insurance; voluntary life, dental, disability, cancer, accident and hospital insurance; and individual health, life, dental, & disability insurance. We also sell temporary health plans for individuals that need short-term coverage.

Our mission is to provide innovative, practical, and top-quality insurance policies that save time and improve the way businesses manage their employee benefit and insurance programs. We believe our first responsibility is to the customers who use our products and services.

The marketplace in the LaCrosse area has been changing rapidly in the past 5 years. Health care costs are rising every day and the insurance industry needs to combat those high costs. Insurance companies are developing new health plans that are lower in cost than traditional health plans of yesterday. We want to keep costs low for our clients. Our current clients have purchased through our agency because of our intimate understanding of employee benefits and of the insurance companies with which we work. We insist that you, as the employee of a client, or as the client themselves, call us with questions about claims payments & charges, coverage, and monthly billing statements from the insurance companies. We know this works because a large percentage of our time currently is spent on the phone with insureds answering questions and with insurance companies solving problems. Our mission is to offer better customer service, personalized attention, close communication, and more detailed product information than our competitors.

Our customer service department is second to none. We want to be the “Human Resource” director that many small employers cannot afford to hire. We have long-term relationships with the majority of our clients.

We take care of the group enrollments for you - potential or current client. We set aside time at your job site to sit down with each one of your employees and help them fill out the sometimes confusing paperwork that a health insurance company requires. Other agencies hand you a stack of blank health applications and say, “Give me a call when those are complete.” We want to make enrollment into a new health plan simple for you and your employees.

If you ask any of our current clients, they will tell you we have established a great rapport with each and every one of them. We are friendly and courteous when we answer the phone, when we meet face-to-face – it is second nature to us to treat everyone with respect.

Here’s what happens when you do business with us:

• We make contact to introduce ourselves and get your company & census information.

• Our Customer Service Representative runs quotes and binds it into an easy-to-understand proposal.

• We sit down with you and go over the different quotes, helping you to decide which plan best fits your needs.

• We schedule a time to be at your company and assist each of your employees in filling out his/her health application. Once the enrollment is complete we send it to the insurance company (or companies) upon which we decided.

• When we get the medically underwritten rates back, we meet with you to go over the final rates and decide which plan is best for you.

• We then set up employee meetings to explain the new health insurance benefits to your employees and answer any questions they may have.

Every year on your renewal, health insurance rates change. We contact you immediately after we receive your annually revised rates. We run new quotes with your current insurance company as well as other insurance companies. From there we decide to stay with the current plan and health insurance company; change plans within their insurance company; or enroll with a new health insurance company. We make contact with EVERY CLIENT, EVERY YEAR prior to their insurance renewing.
